Seseko expands coding and robotics in Free StateSeseko successfully completed a week-long coding and robotics introduction programme across four secondary schools in Harrismith between 2 and 6 March 2026, marking another important step in the organisation’s mission to expand access to future-focused technology education across South Africa. ![]() During the five-day initiative, Seseko introduced learners to the fundamentals of coding and robotics, providing hands-on exposure to practical digital skills that are becoming increasingly essential in the modern economy. The programme engaged learners through interactive demonstrations and activities designed to spark curiosity, build problem-solving skills, and encourage interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The Harrismith visit forms part of Seseko’s broader national initiative to support schools in integrating coding and robotics into their curriculum. Through partnerships with educators and schools across multiple provinces, Seseko aims to ensure that learners are equipped with the digital literacy and technological skills needed for the future. Unlike traditional one-off technology workshops, Seseko adopts a holistic implementation model to ensure lasting impact in schools. This approach includes three key components: introducing coding and robotics to learners, providing teacher training and support so educators can confidently deliver the subject, and ensuring schools have access to the necessary resources, including robotics kits and structured learning materials. ![]() Speaking about the initiative, Seseko CEO Bradley Maseko emphasised the importance of building sustainable technology education within schools. “At Seseko, we believe that every learner should have the opportunity to develop the skills needed to thrive in a digital world. Our work in Harrismith is part of a much larger vision to support schools across South Africa as they introduce coding and robotics. By working closely with both learners and educators, and by ensuring schools have the right tools and resources, we are helping create an ecosystem where technology education can truly flourish,” said Maseko. The sessions in Harrismith were well received by both educators and learners, highlighting the growing demand for practical digital skills education in schools. As Seseko continues its work in different provinces, the organisation remains committed to empowering schools with the knowledge, training, and resources required to successfully implement coding and robotics programs. ![]() Through initiatives like the Harrismith programme, Seseko continues to play an important role in bridging the digital skills gap and preparing South African learners for the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. About SesekoSeseko is an edtech organisation dedicated to supporting schools across South Africa in the implementation of coding and robotics education. By working with educators, learners, and school leadership, Seseko provides training, resources, and ongoing support to ensure that schools can successfully introduce and sustain coding and robotics programmes.
