Job description

This is a sales job.

You will identify corporate prospects, build relationships, pitch sponsorship packages, and close deals. The "campaign management" part matters and events experience is important, but if you can't sell, this role isn't for you.

You'll be working for Rainbow Marketing and dedicated full-time to our key account, Ladles of Love, one of South Africa's most respected food security NPOs.

That means your sales conversations will be anchored to events like the Mandela Day Auction Dinner, Women's Day Luncheon, and World Children's Day, occasions that corporate CSI and ESG teams are actively looking to associate with.

You'll have strong material to work with. What you bring is the ability to get in the room and close.

What you'll actually be doing

Selling sponsorship packages to corporates, ranging from event naming rights and activations to CSI partnerships and donor campaigns.

You'll manage the full cycle: identifying prospects, making contact, pitching, negotiating, and delivering on what you've sold. You'll also coordinate with creative and events teams to make sure sponsors get what they paid for and come back next year.

Mandela Day activations in July 2026 are your first major deliverable. You'll need to hit the ground running.

You're right for this role if you have:
  • 3 to 7 years in sponsorship sales, business development, or partnership management, with deals you can point to by name and value
  • A track record of closing B2B deals of R50 000 or more
  • Genuine understanding of CSR, CSI, ESG, and SDG frameworks, not just the acronyms
  • Strong written and verbal communication, you'll be writing proposals and presenting to decision-makers
  • Experience in an agency, NPO, or events environment
  • Own reliable transport and willingness to travel between activations, including in underserved communities.
  • You live in Cape Town
You're not right for this role if:
  • You've never cold-called or prospected for new business
  • Your experience is primarily execution and coordination, not revenue generation
  • You need a lot of hand-holding to manage a pipeline
  • You are not based in Cape Town
