Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing media assets meet required technical, editorial, and broadcast standards across the post-production workflow.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Incoming Media Quality Control

  • Monitor and assess incoming media via Signiant Media Shuttle; verify completeness of video, audio, and subtitles.
  • Identify and report missing or corrupted files.
Video Quality Control
  • Check video assets for compliance with broadcast standards, including format, frame rate, resolution, aspect ratio, colour space, and encoding.
Audio Quality Control
  • Verify audio/video sync, channel configuration, and loudness compliance.
  • Identify distortion, clipping, and other audio defects.
Subtitle Quality Control
  • Review subtitle accuracy, timing, formatting, and compliance with platform requirements.

Outgoing Media Verification
  • Perform final QC checks on all deliverables.
  • Confirm correct versions and inclusion of all required components before release.
Issue Reporting and Documentation
  • Document and track defects, communicate issues to relevant teams, and ensure timely resolution.
Workflow Coordination
  • Collaborate with post-production teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain efficient workflows and delivery timelines.


Minimum Qualifications, Experience: 
  • Diploma or Degree in Film Production, Media Technology, Broadcast Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in media quality control, post-production, or broadcast operations.
  • Experience with broadcast delivery specifications and QC processes.
  • Exposure to digital media or post-production environments preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of broadcast and streaming delivery standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify technical defects.
  • Knowledge of video codecs, frame rates, resolutions, and colour spaces (Rec.709, HDR)
  • Understanding of audio formats and loudness standards.
  • Familiarity with subtitle and captioning standards.
  • Strong reporting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
