Job description

  • Ensure ALL goods delivered to the shop are delivered with an IBT note - shop stock
  • Ensure all orders delivered must be delivered on a C and R tax invoice.
  • Under no circumstances is the storeman to receive stock on a delivery note.
  • Ensure goods are correctly counted - goods must tie up with IBT note or tax invoice
  • IBT note and invoice must be signed to confirm goods received are indeed correct
  • Ensure that any discrepancies are escalated to line manager immediately.
  • Should driver rush before completion of checking and counting of stock, make notes as 'goods not checked'.
  • File all IBTs and copies of invoices.
  • Ensure that an order is picked accompanied by the shop invoice
  • Pick orders for various business units as per shop invoice.
  • ALL orders picked in the storeroom must be delivered by the storeman to the client.
  • Clients must sign the invoice confirming receipt of order.
  • ALL orders to be couriered must be delivered to the mail room accompanied by all the necessary paperwork - invoice - waybill, etc.
  • The storeman is responsible for all returns i.e.
  • RTM stock (return-to-manufacturer) this is either poor quality /damaged stock.
  • Return all write-off stock (damaged stock) to the warehouse/head office.
  • All of the above items are to be accompanied with a RTM slip or write-off slip with all the necessary details
  • completed.
  • Before the RTM and write-off stock is returned to the warehouse line manger to sign off.
  • Ensure the shop stock level requirements are maintained.
  • Keep the right stock at the right time.
  • Manage the re-order levels of all stock items on evolution.
  • Ensure the stock area is secure.
  • Ensure all stock is coded and marked correctly with the relevant visual aids.
  • Ensure the stock is grouped correctly no mixing of stock.
  • Inform line manager of dormant stock and stock shortages.
  • Stock takes and stock counts to be done on a regular basis.
  • It is required of the storeman to submit weekly stock counts to the line manager.
  • For incomplete daily tasks then a daily task sheet should be completed to monitor outstanding tasks.
  • Accountability for stock losses.
  • Housekeeping.
