STADIO is looking to fill the role of Module Coordinator - School of Education

A module coordinator in higher education oversees the design, delivery, and quality of a specific module (or course unit) to ensure effective teaching and learning.

They manage academic content, staffing, and resources, including updating module descriptions, timetabling, and providing learning materials like access to platforms such as canvas

Module coordinators handle assessments by setting deadlines, coordinating marking and moderation, preparing results for exam boards, and liaising with external examiners

They gather student feedback via surveys, monitor attendance and progress, and use data to evaluate and improve the module

Key responsibilities

 
  1. a. Module coordinator for the following modules:
  • Physical Education and Sport 1 (PESI301)
  • Physical Education and Sport 2 (PESI302)
  • Physical Education and Sport 3 (PESI400)
  • Physical Education and Sport (PES300)
  1. Perform the role and responsibilities of the module coordinator (MC).
  2. Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
  3. Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules.
  4. Participate in relevant programme, curriculum and material development.
  5. Participate in school-based teaching practice assessments.
  6. Complete all quality assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.
  7. Participate in research and community engagement projects.
  8. Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management, as appropriate.
  9. Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and SOPs.
  10. Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.
  11. Fulfil functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.
  12. Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.


Minimum requirements:
  1. At least 3 years teaching and/or lecturing experience in physical education and school level experience in foundation phase and intermediate phase teaching.
  2. Experience in curriculum and materials development.   
  3. Experience in online and blended teaching and learning environments.
Qualifications and experience

Relevant qualification at least one level higher than the programme for which he/she is the MC
  • Recommended: 2+ years teaching experience on the programme (or a cognate programme).
  • Recommended: Where applicable, membership of relevant professional bodies and/or industry networking and engagement.
Key attributes:
  1. Sound teaching and assessment skills.
  2. Good knowledge of CANVAS as an online management system/tool
  3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
  5. High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Ability to cope with change.
  8. Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
