Key roles and responsibilities:- Lecture and assess contact learning and distance learning students in BEd (foundation phase teaching) and the BEd (intermediate phase teaching) programme(s) in the following modules:
- Education and diversity
- Education theory and practice
- Educator and the law
- School management
- Sociopedagogics
- Teaching life skills
- Curriculum design
- Inclusive education 1
- Educational psychology 1 & 2
- Learner care and support
- Introduction to research
- Independently use the learning management system and/or collaborate with colleagues to design, develop and deliver high‑quality module content.
- Contribute to programme development processes, including curriculum design, review and the creation or improvement of learning materials.
- Perform allocated internal moderation duties to ensure academic integrity, consistency and compliance with institutional standards.
- Conduct invigilation of venue‑based assessments as required by the registrar’s office, ensuring full adherence to examination policies and procedures.
- Participate in school‑based teaching practice assessments, providing constructive feedback and supporting the development of student teachers.
- Provide academic support to students.
- Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.
- Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and SOPs.
- Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.
- Fulfil functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.
- Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.
Qualifications and experience | minimum requirements:- Minimum bachelor of education honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in A bachelor of education honours degree, or an equivalent qualification, with focused study in both educational psychology and education studies is required.
- At least 3 years teaching and/or lecturing experience in the relevant phases and disciplines.
- Experience in curriculum and materials development.
- Experience in online and blended teaching and learning environments.

- Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern information technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.

- Ability to cope with change.
- Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
