STADIO Higher Education is looking for a Lecturer - Visual Arts (Fixed Term Contract)

Key responsibilities
  • Lecture contact learning students in the following modules:
  • Visual Imaging Studies 3 (DIP371),
  • Graphic Design and Typography 2 (GDT371),
  • Interactive Creation (ICR152) &
  • Project-Based Simulation (PBS152)
  • Complete grading for all the modules.
  • Conduct internal moderation for the below-mentioned modules.
  • Provide academic support to students.
  • Complete all Quality Assurance requirements related to the modules.
  • Participate in institutional research projects.
  • Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.
  • Undertake scholarly activities to continuously improve teaching and learning.
Qualifications and experience
  • At least 2–3 years of lecturing experience at a tertiary education institution.
  •  Demonstrated ability to teach multiple modules/subjects, such as:Graphic Design, Typography, Web Design, Interactive Design (UI/UX), Front-end Web Development, and HTML & CSS. Competency in the following software is required Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma, Wix, Web flow, Capcut/Clipchamp (or any other online video editing platform), and Canva.
  • Experience in grading, and moderation of academic work.
  • Proven track record of curriculum delivery and student engagement in a higher education environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to facilitate both contact learning and blended learning environments.
  • Proficiency in academic administration, including grading, moderation, and report writing.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
  • Minimum Honours or equivalent NQF 8 qualifications in a relevant Visual Arts discipline (e.g., Graphic Web Design or related field).

   platforms. Experience with CANVAS LMS and MS Suite for productivity preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to cope with change.
• Availability to work on Saturdays for school events and Open Days.
