                         Account Director: Strategic Communications and Client 

                                               Fixed– Term – 12 Month duration

We are seeking a strategically minded and cli ent-focused communications professional to lead account management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic advisory support for a key client portfolio. The role focuses on relationship management, strategic communications support, client servicing, reporting coordination, and insight-driven recommendations to support client reputation and business objectives.

The successful candidate will:
  • Manage and grow senior client relationships as a trusted strategic partner
  • Lead day-to-day account management, client communication, and service delivery coordination
  • Translate client needs into strategic communication recommendations and actionable outputs
  • Coordinate reporting, presentations, workshops, and strategic engagement sessions
  • Develop client-ready summaries, recommendations, and executive communication updates
  • Present strategic trends, reputational considerations, and communication opportunities to clients
  • Support communications planning, stakeholder engagement, and consultancy initiatives
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery, responsiveness, and service excellence
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, value creation, and long-term partnership development
Ideal profile
  • 10+ years’ experience in related field
  • Degree in communications, media, marketing, public relations, business, or related field
  • Strong experience in account management, communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, or client services
  • Excellent relationship management, writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and executive-level clients
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
  • Strong understanding of the South African media, communications, and corporate landscape
  • The ideal candidate is proactive, professional, strategically aware, and highly client-centric, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted long-term relationships. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, operational coordination, and high-quality client engagement.
