Job description
Location: Cape Town (in-office)Reporting to: Head of programmatic
Role overview
The Programmatic Operations Specialist plays a critical role in the successful delivery and optimisation of programmatic digital out of home (PDOOH) campaigns at Tractor Outdoor.
This role is responsible for the accurate setup, execution, monitoring, and reporting of programmatic campaigns, maintaining and improving operational standards and supporting commercial outcomes.
Working closely with the Head of Programmatic, Sales teams, and external partners, the role ensures the candidate to strive for seamless campaign delivery and strong attention to detail.
Key responsibilities
Campaign setup and execution:
- Set up and manage programmatic campaigns across relevant DSPs, SSPs, and Ad Server platforms – DV360 experience necessary
- Ensure accurate trafficking, targeting, scheduling, and creative implementation.
- Monitor campaigns daily to ensure optimal performance and delivery.
- Troubleshoot technical or delivery issues promptly and effectively.
- Analyse campaign performance and implement optimisation strategies.
- Monitor pacing, inventory utilisation, and delivery metrics to ensure campaign objectives are achieved.
- Work with the Head of Programmatic to identify performance improvement opportunities.
- Prepare accurate and timely campaign reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide clear performance insights and highlight optimisation opportunities.
- Maintain strong attention to data accuracy and presentation standards.
- Maintain clear and structured workflows for campaign setup and management.
- Ensure all processes are followed consistently and documentation is up to date.
- Support the refinement of internal systems and operational efficiencies as the function scales.
- Work closely with the head of programmatic and programmatic sales executive to ensure smooth campaign delivery.
- Liaise with sales teams to support campaign execution and manage expectations.
- Maintain professional and responsive communication with clients, agencies, and platform partners where required.
Key requirements
- 2–4 years’ experience in digital media, programmatic, or ad operations.
- Understanding of programmatic buying, DSPs, SSPs, and Ad Server environments (experience in PDOOH advantageous).
- Agency experience necessary
- Strong attention to detail and process discipline.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused.
